Most of the production of underground fuel tanks by CSM Lo Cascio in Caltanissetta is characterized by the coating with polyurethane paint, applied hot by means of a Bmixer machine to obtain a final film thickness of no less than 700 microns. This process follows a preliminary phase of sandblasting the metal until reaching the SA 2.5 grade, compliant with the EN ISO 8501 standard.
The tanks are subjected to coating tests using a high voltage scintillograph, as prescribed by the UNI EN 12285 standard. For oil companies, we instead adopt an epoxy paint coating known as Amercoat 391PC, which includes a series of detailed preparatory stages:
Our sandblasting plant is designed with modern technologies to treat tanks with diameters up to 3000 mm and maximum lengths of 15000 mm. The turbines are arranged in such a way as to guarantee a uniform degree of sandblasting on surfaces inclined with respect to the advancement axis.
Before applying the coatings, each tank is subjected to surface sandblasting according to the Sa 2.5 standard as defined by the UNI EN ISO 8503 standard.
These procedures ensure that our tanks meet the highest quality and safety standards, guaranteeing reliable and long-lasting performance.
